When Do ASME/NSF/ANSI Certifications Matter for Stainless Steel Filter Housings?

Certifications on industrial equipment were created to close a specific gap. ASME's Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code came out of a long history of pressure vessel failures, back when there was no consistent design, fabrication, or inspection standard across industry. A code stamp means a vessel, such as industrial stainless steel filter housings, was built and tested to a recognized engineering standard, not just to whatever spec a shop decided was good enough.

When They're Required
In power generation, oil and gas, and chemical processing, a code stamp is often not optional. If your stainless steel multi-cartridge or bag filter housing exceeds the size or pressure thresholds, an ASME Code Stamp is required. When you have a critical process application, be certain to know if an ASME Code stamp is a requirement.
What This Means for Your Team Day to Day
Filter housings engineered and verified to code lower the safety risk tied to unknown fabrication quality.
With regard to materials safety, the NSF/ANSI-61 standard was developed to provide assurances that filtration equipment wouldn’t leach toxic metals or trace chemical contaminants into water for consumption. An industrial filter housing certified to NSF/ANSI-61, used in food and beverage production, reduces the number of unknowns your operators and engineers have to account for when the equipment is in operation.

Get the System Housing Right the First Time
Endoer Filtration maintains a significant inventory of our over 400 housing models offered. This includes single- and multi-cartridge stainless steel designs. Most are available with the ASME code stamp option. Additionally, all Endoer stainless steel housings are certified to NSF/ANSI-61, supporting rigorous purity and safety requirements across food, beverage, and industrial applications.
